i ran into this article that mentioned how Chanel actually came along and Coco Chanel is really something. She created a fashion that not only encompasses style and couture, in the 1900s when in inequality ran rampant, she"took the reigns of feminism by the designer skirt hem by doing away with rigid corsets and cinched waists, in favor of pants and suit jackets for women - emerging as a pioneer for women's fashion and women's rights." oh, eat your heart out Margaret Atwood!
seriously though, i genuinely admire every single piece they produce, whether its the perfect beautiful colour, the heavily quilted leather patterns, enhanced pleats or the classic straps. in my opinion, a Chanel bag has this touch of character to it, that makes it so much more than a "nice handbag", it inspires confidence, not to mention the pleasure of just looking at it, let alone owning one. the day i actually buy one for myself..
